Fun & Flirty: February Drink of the Month
February 1, 2016
The weather forecast right now for Valentine’s Day is looking a little chilly, but inside, things will heat up nicely with this twist on a traditional cocktail. Not too sweet, not too tart, this cocktail is a simple yet delicious concoction pretty much anyone would love.
While it requires a little bit of extra work because you have to strain the drink, it only requires two types of alcohol, both of which are pretty much a staple in any home bar.
If creating this cocktail for you and your sweetheart, here’s what you’ll need to mix up two glasses:
4 oz. of Absolut Raspberry or Berry Acai Vodka
2 oz. simple syrup
2 oz. lemon juice
2 heaping tablespoons of blackberry or raspberry jam
Splash of sparkling white wine
Add all ingredients to the shaker EXCEPT for the wine. Shake vigorously for a few seconds, and then let sit for 15-30 seconds. Strain mixture over ice, and then top with the sparkling wine. Garnish with a few blackberries and raspberries, and you have yourself a Valentine’s Day delight for your taste buds!
